For those of you who aren't familiar with the statistics of Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), here are just a few of the statistics that will give you a better picture of how many kids are affected by Congenital Heart Disease:
- About 1 in 125 babies are born with a CHD
- Heart defects are the most common of all birth defects
- There are about 35 known CHD's. There is no prevention or cure for them.
- More children die from CHD than from ALL pediatric cancers combined.
- 40,000 children will be born this year with a CHD; about 4,000 will not live to see their first birthday.
